Hello, welcome
I'm Kayti; odd spelling, I know. I was born Catherine, but growing up in a large household and being one of the younger siblings, I got overlooked, and Catherine was quickly shortened to Kayti. Still, being so young (and later in life diagnosed with dyslexia), I always spelt how it sounded to me. This spelling stuck!
As a teenage girl growing up in a very working-class area, I found the need always to try and prove myself. Sadly, at the age of 13, my home life became challenging due to an extensive array of issues. This led me to find myself in foster care. This, believe it or not, was the making of me; I was given a second chance at life thanks to my amazing foster mum, who still, to this day, I call "mum". I quickly learnt to mirror her way of life and her incredible attitude to all that was thrown at her, good and bad.
I entered the hospitality world at a relatively young age. I surprised and impressed myself when opportunities arose to lead me to work my way up, especially in a male-dominated industry. This followed smoothly into the security sector; this is where my passion and strengths lie, thanks to my years of knowledge in hospitality.
Fast forward to now, I'm a mum of 3 wonderful boys who are my reason for all of this; they fuel my energy and determination to succeed.
This is my story, and I want to be the inspiration for all to overcome whatever events may be holding them back; anything is possible.
Thanks for listening.
Kayti
